At Premier Nursing we adopt the West Sussex Medication Policy, this document can be sourced on the WSCC Connect to support website, with-in this policy we follow the guidelines and training for each level of medication assistance.

The three levels of supporting medication are as follows;

Level 1 – Prompting, a reminder of what is required and when.

Level 2 – Administering medication, any medicines that are prescribed or over the counter medicines will be managed by staff members and recorded appropriately.

Level 3 – Specialist administration of medication – this is through specialist training from the GP, Nurse or District Nurse, for the carer to continue to provide the medication you need, via injection, nebulisers etc.

We can also support you to attend any medical appointments, arranging and collections of medicines.

Each member of staff goes through a stringent training programme and any client who has support the medication administration is monitored and audited very closely.
